MBTA Simulator
MBTA Simulator
You look down at your write. It looks back at you with "9:15" written on it. "Late for work again," you think to yourself, "I bet I could do better running these damned trains." But you'll never get the chance... UNTIL NOW with MBTA Simulator!
You take control of an underfunded, dis-repaired transit system in the heart of Boston at one of its lowest points. Manage the fragile balance between having your patrons respect you, and funding the system. Start new projects such as the Green Line Extension, and Red-Blue Connector. Your actions have consequences on the millions who rely on the system every day. Will you bring the system out of the rubble, or bury it even further?
How To Play
There is no "winning" this game, although must consider the game complete when all projects are completed and when disrepair is at 0%. A top tip is that respect == long term money. You can also click on a station circle marker to see stats and to modernize the station. Explore the options at the bottom to get learn all the features.
Why I Made This
Back in the summer of 2019, the MBTA was having a really terrible month. One of the red line trains derailed and caused major delays for months after. A green line train also derailed. People were waiting up to an hour and a half for their trains. I waited 45 minutes for a Braintree train one night. And social media wasnt having any of it. You all know the quality of twitter replies on an average tweet, but imagine it 3x worse. In this hysteria, I thought a cute game about the situation was in order.
